On June 18, 2020, Excel Physical Therapy hosted a community webinar to discuss the “back pain pandemic,” against the backdrop of COVID-19. Under normal circumstances, 80% of the population experiences back pack at some point in their life. However, the current COVID-19 pandemic has caused a massive shift in the way people conduct their every day lives. More and more people are spending increased time at home, working on a computer or from their phone, or trying to do more DIY projects around the house or yard. With this change in culture, people may be more likely to experience back pain and we’re here to help.

Non-operative spine physiatrist from North Jersey Brain and Spine, Dr. Peter Schmaus, discussed the causes of back pain, and then we welcomed back EXCEL’s very own co-founder and president, Matt Gibble, to review exercises you can do at home to not only treat back pain, but help prevent it too.
