Leigha “Tate” Jarzombek grew up in Texas and moved to New Jersey in March 2020. Tate earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Texas State University in Round Rock, TX. Prior to graduate school, she went to the University of Texas at Tyler majoring in Kinesiology.

Tate was very active growing up, dancing for ten years and cheerleading for seven years, along with playing volleyball and running track. During high school, Tate took an anatomy class and became fascinated with the human body. She realized that physical therapy allowed her to combine her interest in anatomy with her passion for fitness and began to pursue a career in the profession.

Tate has taken additional courses in athletic performance. She also has extensive knowledge in treating the spine, knee, and foot and ankle complex. As an avid weightlifter, Tate enjoys treating this population along with all athletes returning to sport. She plans on becoming certified in blood flow restriction therapy and dry needling.

During graduate school, Tate was a founding board member of the Texas State University Community Access Physical Therapy Clinic, a student-run pro bono PT clinic. She was also published in the Global Journal of Medical Research, co-authoring “Balance and fall risk outcome measures for patients 65 years or older in the outpatient physical therapy setting: what are the trends?”.

When she isn’t treating patients, Tate enjoys exploring the neighborhoods of New York City and travelling. She is on a mission to find the best pizza and Texas barbeque in New Jersey, so recommendations are welcome!
