Hackensack, NJ, June 3, 2019 – Excel Orthopedic Physical Therapy (“EXCEL”), New Jersey’s premier provider of comprehensive orthopedic physical therapy since 1990, is pleased to announce that George Merhi has joined the organization as its Chief Financial Officer. Merhi is a seasoned financial executive who will provide leadership and guidance to the finance and accounting team while overseeing all aspects of finance, accounting, cash and asset management.

For more than 25 years, Merhi has held finance leadership positions in both public and private corporations with revenues ranging from $5 million to $500 million. His experience spans a variety of industries with proven success in building, strengthening, and leading the corporate finance function for companies in various start-up, stable, and growth situations.
A graduate of Western Connecticut State University’s Ancell School of Business, Merhi has held several key executive positions in the industries of healthcare, retail and franchise finance, and contract food and beverage. He most recently served as chief financial officer for a company providing patient care in the behavioral health industry. Prior to that, as chief financial officer for a company providing outpatient physical therapy, he helped execute the company’s growth strategy from five to 50 outpatient facilities across the Northeast and Midwest.

Merhi will be working closely with EXCEL’s leadership team and board of directors to support the company’s financial due diligence and ongoing growth strategy.
EXCEL recently opened an office in Livingston, NJ—its first in Essex County and fifteenth overall.
