Paul Martin

New Jersey Devils

New Jersey Devils defenseman Paul Martin suffered a fractured forearm after getting hit by a slap shot early in the 2009/2010 season. Although surgery was eventually performed to stabilize the fracture, he unfortunately was forced to withdraw his spot on the 2010 U.S. Olympic Hockey team due to the injury.

Once the fracture healed and his cast was removed, he came to EXCEL for the physical therapy he needed to restore his range of motion and regain his strength so he could get back on the ice. Following weeks of intensive therapy he scored a goal in his first game back with the Devils and went on to help them win their Division and reach the playoffs.

Paul Martin’s recovery was covered in Fire & Ice (and again and again) and in NJ.com (and again and again).
