doctor looking at x-rayOn Wednesday, September 2nd, EXCEL Jersey City Clinic Director, Amanda Cavallo, PT, DPT, was joined by Riverside Orthopedic Institute’s Medical Director, Dr. Luis Grau, to review the ins and outs of same day joint replacement surgery.

In 2017, a study predicted that by 2027 over half of all joint replacement surgeries would occur in the outpatient setting. It seems likely that given the current times, even more people would find comfort in the possibility to recover in their own home immediately after undergoing surgery.

Speakers:

Dr. Luis Grau is a fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the non-operative and operative treatment of the hip and knee. Dr. Grau’s clinical interests include minimally invasive surgical techniques which help promote a more rapid recovery. He has advanced training in arthroscopy, direct anterior hip replacement, quad sparing partial and total knee replacement and robotic arm assisted and computer navigated joint replacement. 

Amanda Cavallo, PT, DPT is the Clinic Director of EXCEL’s Jersey City office location. Amanda received her BS in Exercise Science from Georgian Court University where she ran cross country. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from College of Staten Island where she was recognized for Clinical Excellence in Physical Therapy and Service.
