EXCEL Regional Director and three time Ironman triathlete finisher Bryan Del Rio, PT was joined by Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon and avid cycler, Dr. James Cahill, as well as owner of Cyclesport, Mike Grotz. Our cycling experts answered FAQs about all things bike-related.

Dr. James Cahill is a board certified orthopedic surgeon, whose private practice is proudly affiliated with Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey. He is a fellowship trained sports medicine and reconstruction specialist, in practice for twenty years and routinely performs arthroscopic and joint replacement surgery of the shoulders, elbow, hip and knee..As an avid cyclist, Dr. Cahill has experience treating cycling related injuries and approaches them from an empathetic perspective.

Mike Grotz grew up in the business, as father Walter started Cyclesport, he was fortunate to learn from a skilled master. Mike learned the business from the ground up, serving both mechanical and sales capabilities. He raced for over 20 years at an elite level, and left the bicycle business for a stint in corporate America. Several years later, he realized his true passion, and rejoined the Cyclesport team.  Mike and his wife Tracy purchased the business a few years later and carry on the Cyclesport legacy today. As a certified master fit technician with over 500 fits on his résumé, Mike plays an integral part in reducing the risk of cycling injuries.

Bryan DelRio has been an integral part of EXCEL’s growth ever since he joined the company in 2002. Over the years, his role has evolved to include helping develop newer therapists, mentoring other Clinic Directors, and helping contribute to EXCEL’s continued success in any way he can. Bryan was first introduced to the sport of triathlon in 2008 and hasn’t looked back since. He has completed three Ironman races and fills his race calendar with other shorter endurance events. The EXCEL Regional Director is passionate about seeing cycling athletes and their related injuries.
