Devils forward Bobby Holik suffered a shattered bone in his hand from an Alex Ovechkin slap shot early in the 2008-09 NHL season. Surgery was performed to repair the damage and he came to EXCEL for his physical therapy. At the completion of physical therapy he regained enough strength and range of motion to start practicing with the team and was able to return to the Devils starting line-up midway through the season.
