Maria Toscano, PT, DPT
NJ PT License #40QA01751400
When Maria was a senior at Ramapo High School in 2010, she sustained a multi-ligament knee injury, which brought her senior season of lacrosse to a sudden halt. While at the time it seemed like the worst fate in the world, it sparked a passion that unknowingly would change her life forever. She was a patient at EXCEL in Oakland for over eight months, and after seeing her therapist's compassion, skill and intelligence firsthand, she was inspired to major in Exercise Science as she headed off to college.
Maria earned a B.S. in Exercise Science, Pre-Physical Therapy with a minor in Biology from Manhattan College, while also receiving a scholarship to play Division I lacrosse. She then graduated magna cum laude from Hunter College with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy, where she began to develop an interest in sport-related injuries, as well as return-to-sport progressions and rehabilitation.
Today, Maria is thrilled to return to the place that first inspired her career path of becoming a physical therapist. In her free time, Maria loves spending time with family and friends, attending an almost shocking number of Yankee games, planning how she might be able to meet Aaron Judge in the near future, as well as relaxing on the beach in Montauk, New York.
