John is a Physical Therapist with more than 17 years of experience in orthopedics and sports medicine. Upon receiving a bachelor degree from the University of Delaware, John went on to City College of New York's College of Staten Island earning a second bachelor degree in Science and a Master Degree in Physical Therapy, graduating with Highest Honors. He furthered his education by earning a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy.
During his career, John has worked with patients ranging from age 3 months to 98 years and athletes from youth to professional levels. In recent years, John has developed an affinity for working with both the knee and shoulder joints.
At an early age, John developed his interest in physical therapy, following in the footsteps of his older brother, a physical therapist and owner of a sports and rehabilitation practice on Long Island. Being an athlete himself, John frequently utilized physical therapy services and saw the impact it had, not only on his life but also the hundreds of other patients who were seeing tremendous results from physical therapy.
John was a three-sport athlete in high school (football, basketball and lacrosse), captain of his teams and won various honors in all three sports. John was recruited to play both Division 1 football and lacrosse before deciding to attend the University of Delaware and focus on his studies. Sports continues to play a large role in his life, as he is an avid runner, competing in runs of varying distances, including his first half marathon in 2015. He continues to play basketball in a men's league in Montvale, NJ where he and his family reside. John is married to his wife Alexia and they have two young children, Kaitlyn and John.
John and his family love their trips to Walt Disney World and the Jersey shore. His wife works for the National Football league, which has afforded John the opportunity to attend 18 Super Bowls. He also has volunteered his time working with youth and high school athletes locally and for consecutive years at the NFL Pro Bowl when it took place in Hawaii.
During John's vast years of physical therapy experience in sports and orthopedics, he has served as a partner/owner in a private physical therapy practice and clinic manager for a Fortune 500 company's world headquarters where he was able to expand his knowledge and expertise in the health industry. He became a Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist and has given lectures and presentations, both here in the U.S. and abroad, on ergonomics, as well as various orthopedic and sports injuries and rehabilitation.
John also loves teaching, not only in the clinic setting but also at the college level where he has served as adjunct faculty teaching Anatomy and Physiology.
