As a student athletic trainer at Penn State, Jennifer's passion for sports medicine and rehabilitation was nurtured. It is this passion, combined with her love of sports and helping others, that made her eager to pursue a career as a physical therapist. Jennifer has always had a strong interest in working with youth athletes who have sustained sports-related injuries. She especially enjoys working with the young athlete who is eager to get back to playing the sport they love. Prior to working at Excel, Jennifer had many opportunities to work with youth athletes as an athletic trainer for the Franklin Lakes War Eagles football team and various Penn State sports camps.
Jennifer enjoys treating patients of all ages and backgrounds. Fluent in Spanish, she worked with many Spanish speaking patients during her clinical internships and volunteer work at Columbia. She also had the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population during a clinical internship abroad in Australia. These experiences enhanced Jennifer’s cultural competency as a physical therapist. Jennifer aims to provide the highest quality of care to all of her patients by building a good rapport, treating each patient as an individual, and working with patients to set and achieve goals. Being a physical therapist allows Jennifer to fulfill her various interests and passions while positively impacting the lives of others.
Jennifer also has a strong passion for volunteer work and giving back to the community. During her time in graduate school, Jennifer participated in various community projects, including volunteering at Columbia’s student-run pro bono clinic. She also participated in a service learning trip to Guatemala, where she provided physical therapy services to underrepresented communities. Jennifer continues to develop her passion for volunteerism and community outreach with the Excel team.
In her free time, Jennifer enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, volunteering at her church, and working out. She also enjoys arts and crafts projects, which nurtures her creative side. Jennifer loves to travel, and looks forward to checking places around the world off her bucket list. As a native New Yorker, Jennifer is an avid fan of the Yankees and Giants.
